1 Peter 2:10

“Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”


  • The Bible reveals Gods MERCY through: Gods RELENTLESS PURSUIT for me—


  • Peter knows ALL about Gods mercy!


ANGELS at Jesus’ tomb mentioned :

BUT IN:

Mark 16:5-7

the angel is the vehicle whom God uses to share His mercy towards Peter!

“When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, 6 but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. 7 Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died.”


  • Peter had just denied Jesus 3x & felt extreme shame and guilt.


But the angel told the women that Peter is not excluded from being Jesus‘s disciple!

He has been FORGIVEN!


A N G E L S:

  • angels: “sent to earth by God to convey messages. “

  • Angels are mentioned over 300x in Bible

  • They’re spiritual beings, not of flesh and blood— sometimes appear as human. (Heb 13:2, Luke 24:39)

  • They’re loyal & worship the Lord endlessly (Psalm 103, Rev 7).

  • They have a will, intellect and emotion. (Jude 1:6)

  • They have duties and a chain of command. (Dan 8:11)


👉When an angel appears in Bible, first words out of mouth are often “do not be afraid.” (Luke 1:26-33) 


  • They are glorious beings, but they are not to be worshipped or prayed to.

In Rev 19:19– John encountered an angel in a vision and fell at his feet to worship him. “But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!”

How many angels are there?

there are “innumerable angels.” (Heb 12:22) 


Daniel said “a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.” (Dan 7:10) 

👉That’s 100 million right there!


Revelation 5:11

“Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.”

STORY OF Daniel 

10:2-19

  • Daniel had been mourning, praying & fasting for his people for over 3 weeks!

  • Dan 10:5 “I looked up and saw a man dressed in linen clothing, with a belt of pure gold around his waist. 6 His body looked like a precious gem. His face flashed like lightning, and his eyes flamed like torches. His arms and feet shone like polished bronze, and his voice roared like a vast multitude of people.”

  • Daniel lost all strength & grew pale at the “sight of this great vision.”

  • The angels HAND TOUCHED DANIEL & said…

  • “I have been sent to you— do not be afraid.”

  • Angel tells Daniel: “your words have been heard & I’ve come in response to them!”

Do I have a guardian angel?


  • Acts 12:

  • Peter is Imprisoned


  • “But The church was earnestly praying for him.”


  • Peter sleeping between 2 soldiers bound w/ chains & guards standing at prison Entrance.


  • An angel appeared in a light shown in the sale.

  • He struck Peter on the side and will come up. “Quick, get up!” He said & the chains fell off peters wrist.

  • He walked Peter out of prison & through the closed gates!

  • The angel left suddenly, and Peter said to himself “now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me!”

  • Peter went to mark’s moms house where his friends were praying for him— they thought Peter was “peters angel” knocking on the door (acts 12:15)

  • They FULLY BELIEVED in guardian angels!!!!


Why don’t we???

  • because of their prayers— “his” angel was sent to rescue Peter! (WOW!)
