Gen 41: 17-24
“So Pharaoh told Joseph his dream. “In my dream,” he said, “I was standing on the bank of the Nile River, and I saw seven fat, healthy cows come up out of the river and begin grazing in the marsh grass.
But then I saw seven sick-looking cows, scrawny and thin, come up after them.
I’ve never seen such sorry-looking animals in all the land of Egypt. These thin, scrawny cows ate the seven fat cows.
But afterward you wouldn’t have known it, for they were still as thin and scrawny as before! Then I woke up.
“In my dream I also saw seven heads of grain, full and beautiful, growing on a single stalk. Then seven more heads of grain appeared, but these were blighted, shriveled, and withered by the east wind. And the shriveled heads swallowed the seven healthy heads.
I told these dreams to the magicians— but no one could tell me what they mean.”

Who & What is a “MAGICIAN in Pharaoh’s life, but also yours?
They’re Counterfeit Gods
Exodus 7&8- magicians (could perform 3 of 10 plagues)
Acts 8 (Simon magician - “this man is what is called the Great Power of God!”) He “mystified & dazzled them w/ his magic!” They tried to pay Peter for the power to heal. He was provoked by BITTERNESS & BOUND BY SIN
Counterfeit Holy Spirit (revelation)

A counterfeit version of Holy Spirit power!!!

2 timothy 3:5-8

8 These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes (Janice) and Jambres (Jambreeze) opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith.
(These are the traditional names of the magicians—who opposed Moses.)
Who are the MAGICIANS in your life to whom you’re telling your dreams??
Today— we’re defining this as Someone we’ve given EMOTIONAL ACCESSIBILITY into the sacred spaces of the heart — BEFORE/ OTHER than God!
Because the “demonic magician himself” has wormed himself into your heart & has convinced you this person IS/HAS the answer for you!
Magicians use:
Manipulation & illusions to DECEIVE you— that they are a “god” w/ power!!!!
The enemy is a professional magician and illusionist(America’s got talent)
Causes you to think things are there that aren’t!
Wizard of Oz. The great “Oz” was an illusion.
Dorothy & friends believed he was a god (a “magician) with all the answers!!!
It’s not the Person in your life playing the magician— but the ENEMY using that person!
Eph 6:12
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms!”
SAMSON STORY:
Delilah was Samson’s “magician.” :(
Judges 16:17
“He finally told Delilah everything that was in his heart.”

(About his hair having power- after she proved herself to
be untrustworthy)
Samson gave Delilah access to his heart, where she had not earned it!
This led to his destruction!
It wasn’t DELILAH’S fault that she destroyed Samson… it was Samson’s for allowing her into the sacred space of his heart!
Who are you giving access to your heart that hasn’t yet earned it?
Social media?
Friends?
Spouse?
A psychic?
Family?
Classmates
Coworkers
Acquaintances
EMOTIONAL ACCESSIBILITY :
WHY might you be GIVING ACCESS to someone who hasn’t yet earned it into your sacred space?
Maybe there’s an UNMET NEED in your heart that’s insisting God is not enough— and this magician IS!!!! (We don’t know truth
THIS is where IDOLATRY is forged (GIDEONS ending;(
How much emotional access are you offering to them?

Before we give people access into our:
home,
car,
bank account,
email password,
FB acct—
we make sure that they’re responsible with that access!
We must make sure they’re appropriately responsible before I give ACCESS into the inner court of heart!
“BE transparent with the many and vulnerable with the few.”
(Transparency is where I’ve been; vulnerability is where I’m at)
“Above all else, guard your heart.
Because— everything else flows from it! “ (PROV 4:23)
⁃ “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” (Matt 10:16)
ALSO…
“Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! Do not give the dogs what is sacred. They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.” (Matt 7:6)
Many people are trustworthy, but some aren’t.
Many people have good intentions, but some don’t.
“Love is unconditional, but relational access ISN’T!”
I once heard a pastor say it was easier to be vulnerable on stage than with his own family!
Because “on-stage vulnerability” requires:
NO INTIMACY
NO ACCOUNTABILITY
NO mutual ACCESSIBILITY
NO mutual RELATABILITY
When those we love draw close to us,
they ALSO draw close to our issues.
The deeper we connect,
the more vulnerable we become.
The more vulnerable we become;
the more EXPOSED the tender places inside of us become!
The exposure is risky.
Because when we risk being known— we risk being hurt!
And when I have INTIMACY— I risk REJECTION!
(Maybe a spirit of rejection is your FILTER in every intimate conversation?—
“On stage” vulnerability requires no IRONSHARPENING IRON!
There’s no one there:
to push back with deeper questions.
There’s no one there:
to hold you accountable in your words & thoughts
There’s no one there:
to see a wounded child within that’s seeing the situation through a faulty lens— & call it out!
(This is similar to porn!
A 2 dimensional relationship:
lacking intimacy &
requiring NO ACCOUNTABILITY )
It LACKS the INGREDIENT of LOVE!
Because love can hurt — but ONLY LOVE WILL HEAL.

“Above all, love each other deeply because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
The ROOT for Samson:
he wanted Delilah’s love & affection & attention… even after she had proved herself to be unfaithful and untrustworthy (swine/dog… turned magician)
(this is NOT LOVE)

The pain of “losing her” (Delilah) seemed GREATER than the pain of her betrayal (through her unmerited access)

I was Willing to live with it instead of seeking help & health!
(That’s dysfunction.)
we may not have a strong COMPASS in our life of what is permissible & what is not!
we might be “accustomed” to bad behavior by people in our childhood (DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY)
And don’t see the NEED to keep sacred space of heart holy!
We have A Holy hole only to be filled by a Holy God.

Boundaries will NATURALLY & ORGANICALLY develop in your heart when you know your value and worth because you FIRST HAVE JESUS ON THE THRONE OF HEART
TRUST= time+believable behavior

What magicians are you telling your dreams to?— but cannot tell you what they mean? (As pharaoh has taught us)
