1 Peter 1:5
“And through your faith, God is protecting you by HIS power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day.”

“A walkin’ on water kinda faith!”
Peter remembering his “walk on water faith” moment when he wrote this verse?
God desires to deepen our faith!!
He knows it’s the SHIELD we need to protect us from satans fiery arrows!
Matthew 14:22
— immediately after THIS…. Jesus places His disciples in the boat to head into a storm (Jesus goes up to mountain to pray by himself)
👉Jesus is more interested in my faith than He is my comfort!
Gods WILL permit a storm in order to INCREASE my faith & TRUST Him in a deeper level!
IN THE WILL OF GOD:
You can be in the will of God and in a storm at the same time!!
They were completely obedient — & still in a storm!
Matt 14:24
“Meanwhile the disciples were in trouble far from land , For a strong wind had risen and they were fighting heavy waves”
👉 are any of you fighting heavy waves tda— & feel far from solid land?
Matt 14:25
“ About 3am ( the 4th watch) Jesus came towards them walking on the water.”
Dark &. stormy
👉 is your 3am wake up, Jesus coming toward you?

Matt 14:26
“ when the disciple saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, it’s a ghost!”

it takes eyes of faith to recognize Jesus in a storm!!!
Matt 14:28
“ but Jesus spoke to THEM at once, don’t be afraid he said, “ take courage, I am here”
👉 Jesus is telling our 3am fears :
“Don’t be afraid.”
“Take courage.”
“I am HERE!!”
All 12 heard the same message.
Matt 14:28
“ and Peter called him, Lord “IF”(GREEK-SINCE) it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”
“ YES, COME,” Jesus said.
ALL 12 heard The same “sermon” but only Peter, took the sermon and had an intimate time with God and made it personal!
Matt 14:29
“ so Peter stepped outside the boat!”
In order to have walk-on-water-faith, God will call me to do something beyond my human ability, qualities, talents…
water-walkin-faith requires you to get OUT OF THE BOAT! (& do something absurd & ridiculous!)
I must leave my comfort zone to fulfill my destiny!
I can’t walk on water if I’m stuck in my boat!
Before Peter could walk on water— he had to get out of boat!
WHAT IS YOUR BOAT?

A counterfeit comfort
All of us have a “boat”
are you going to stay comfortable & fear-based with the multitudes —- or STEP INTO THE WATER towards Jesus…. alone.
BARN STORY
— couldn’t get mortgage on land
— needed to pay for land .
— Jamie= “we have the exact amount in our saving”
—our $ was our boat.
— we’d rather be living in a little home than missing Gods destiny!!
“You will never out give Me, Joy.”
👉👉is there something in your life you’re holding onto too tightly — & you’re missing God?
Matt 14:30
But when he saw the strong wind and waves, he was terrified and began to sink. Save me Lord he shouted!”
👉 Peter SHIFTED FOCUS from Jesus to circumstance!
👉 it’s a TRICK OF THE ENEMY!

Matt 14:31
“Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “

Jesus IMMEDIATELY (no hesitation) reached out HIS RESCUING hand & GRABBED HIM
—-> are you sinking? Jesus is reaching in & grabbing you!!!
Matt 14:32
“When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped”

Jesus stepped into the boat.
Jesus stepped into my counterfeit comfort.
Jesus stepped into my addiction.
Jesus stepped in to my habit.
Jesus stepped in to my faulty security.
And it was only here= THE STORM STOPPED!
Jesus isnt asking you to get rid of your addiction, counterfeit comfort etc.— he’s asking you to invite him in to it! !!!
So that He can reveal He is the ONLY one to worship!!
(The disciples all began to worship Jesus as the messiah)
Heb 12:2
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author perfecter & finisher of our faith!

Where we lack in faith— God authors it, perfects it & finishes it!
