1 Peter 2:24

“He personally carried MY sins in his body on the cross,

so that I can be dead to sin,

and live for what is right.

By his wounds (stripes)

I AM healed.”

what do you feel when you read this verse?

Nothing?

Something?

Everything?

Jesus’ death meant LITTLE to me when my sins seemed LITTLE to me.

We all want resurrection /revival—

BUT

⁃ there can be no RESURRECTION without a death!

STORY:

Watching Friend weep uncontrollably over sons choice. (Jesus whispered to me— that’s how deeply your sin hurts my heart)

⁃ she NEVER stopped loving her son; but the pain of him making a choice that she knew would ultimately negatively effect him, Grieved her mama heart deeply!

⁃ I think about this weeping every time I sin :(

D E N I A L

= a demonic decoy that refuses to see &/or acknowledge something that’s injuring me & others.

Satan (known in Middle East) = “ The one who tries to get me off the path”

Denial It’s a COPING MECHANISM

Satan uses BLIND SPOTS to keep us from seeing truth!

• We can’t fix what we dont see! (Satans tactic)

So we stay BROKEN!!!

“ if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater things !”

LUKE 16:10

AND I WANT THE GREATER THINGS!!

Could my DENIAL be keeping me from the fullness of His promises?

DENIAL is like IG filters— we choose to see reality through a faulty filter.

• The trickery of Satan in todays culture is to convince us that sin actually isn’t sin!

When we believe it’s not sin, there’s no need for Jesus’ death & this verse will mean nothing to me!

• If the enemy can keep me staying in denial,

THEN the enemy can keep me from LOVE wholeness, freedom, generational blessing!

John 8:32

“You will know the truth and the truth will set you FREE!!!”

• Denial is TRUTHS enemy.

GRIEVING often follows climbing out of denial.

The woman caught in adultery—

• possibly she hid her sin — until it was exposed.(vulnerability)

Possibly Jesus was wrote in sand “by my wounds, you are healed!”

(Peter probably KNEW what Jesus wrote in the sand!!!)

Remedy for denial?? SABBATH!

Being alone in the presence of God extinguishes denial.

👉God & denial can not

co-exist!

SABBATH isn’t “REST” … it’s REST-ORATION!!!
