Joy’s Notes:
Todays notes:
1 Peter 1:16
“For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy (whole)because I am holy.” (Whole)
Isaiah 6:5 “Then said I, Woe is me! for I am UNDONE; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.“ KJV
• Isaiah in front of HOLY God— NOTICE👉he didn’t praise but confessed!
He saw His sin while in front of perfection!
• Isaiah had- ‘Filthy lips’
• the Seraphim touched Isaiah’s lips NOT to burn him; but to BURN OUT lies of satans lies
👇
Maybe?? Isaiah’s mouth speaking in agreement to satans whisper
— I’m not “enough” to accomplish Gods assignment
— im not good enough
—- ill never be like her
—- im too young, old, quiet, loud, etc
“YOUR GUILT IS REMOVED & your sins are forgiven “
• GOD= “Whom shall I send?”
• ISAIAH = “Here I am,SEND ME!”
• GOD= “Yes, go & say my message to the people.”
• Aweness (reverence)
• Acknowledge (self-awareness/confession
• Assignment
• Isaiah has confidence now to fulfill his assignment — NOT because he’s qualified— but because He’s been healed, called, equipped & sent!
God has an assignment hand chosen for you!
Jer 1:8
“ I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.
O Sovereign LORD,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young! The LORD replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the LORD, have spoken!”
• Assignments aren’t DECIDED— they’re DISCOVERED
EVERYONE OF US HAS AN ASSIGNMENT
— mom
— student
— bedridden
— business woman
— single mom
Even if you don’t believe it, Satan does!
• We are good at seeing other people’s assignment, but not our own!
Luke 9:1-2
“When Jesus had
(1) CALLED the Twelve together, he (2) GAVE them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he (3)SENT them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
1. Called
2. Gave (supernatural ability/power
3. Sent
👇
God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies
the called!
He equips the called & GIVES ME POWER!!!
Jesus SENT= resist urge to send myself to do something it’s not time for!
• Jesus had 30 years of preparation BEFORE His 3 1/2 yr ministry
• The enemy loves when the GIFT that is on you is greater than the CHARACTER that’s in you! (Cuz I’m goin down!)
DISCOVER YOUR UNIQUENESS— don’t need to be like her/him
Eph 4:1 “lead a life worthy of your calling.”
God uses the ORDINARY to reveal His EXTRAORDINARY
Matt 17:24
👉Peter fishes for silver coin
👉 Jesus uses Peters “ordinary” to do the extraordinary!
• Moses’ shepherd staff
• David’s stones/sling
• Israelites “walking” 40 yes in wilderness— to “walk around Jericho” to promise land!
God sends out Moses & says “And take your shepherds staff with you & USE it to perform the miraculous signs I’ve shown you.”
• is it possible we’re not witnessing Gods miraculous signs because we’re not bringing our ordinary with us to do Gods work? 🔥🔥
What’s your “ordinary”
That God desires to use for His EXTRA-ordinary?
CLUES to your assignment:
1. What do you love
2. What do you hate (what angers me, what stirs me up— holy anger?)
3. What grieves you. (breaks my heart)
Anita’s Notes
Holiness:
Purity:
We are to “pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14)
Love:
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” (1 John 4:7-8).
Example:
“For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.” (John 13:15)
Forgiveness:
“Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” (Ephesians 4:32)
Trust:
“be conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ.” (Romans 8:29)
Reverence:
“Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1)
Holiness is a journey:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
