“Slaves, in reverent fear of God, submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.” (NIV)

What’s the WHY behind the WHAT
(WHY would God allow us to endure harsh treatment )
• Jesus— He permitted the harsh treatment because= he knew if God was permitting it, it was in Gods Perfect will .
And if it’s in God‘s will, it can only be for my good & Gods glory!!!
• It boils down to TRUSTING Gods &
TRUSTING that “God recycles pain!” ~Opc
It’s really a TRUST issue;

TRUST is:
1. Time +
2. Believable Behavior.
TRUST=
a NATURAL RESPONSE to time + believable behavior from God!
⁃ Are you giving God TIME & OPPORTUNITY to prove himself faithful to you? TO RECYCLE your pain??
⁃ (Satan does not want you to know God is TRUSTWORTHY!!)
HABAKKUK:
Habakkuk was facing a TRUST DILEMMA w/ God.
He cried out over the SIN-CONDITION of his nation (Judah-southern kingdom) & wondered why God wasn’t intervening!! (Sounds like 2022!) (Babylon was beginning to take over)

Habakkuk 3:17
“Even if the fig trees have no blossoms, EVEN IF there are no grapes on the vines; even if the olive crop fails, and even if the fields lie empty and barren; even if the flock (sheep) die in the fields, and even if the cattle barns are empty…

SIX “EVEN-IF’S”

1) EVEN IF no fruit on the fig trees (HOLY MONDAY🙌=
Matt 21:18 Jesus Sees fig tree, went up to it & found nothing but leaves. “May you never bear fruit again, and the tree immediately withered.”
leaves Represent HEALING ( Rev 22:2) healing :gifts/talents
1 Cor 12)
no fruit (no Spirit)
⁃ our calling can’t be accomplished in our SKILL-SET! We need the power of the Holy Spirit!

Matt 7- “ we did mighty healing in your name.” But I (Jesus) never knew you- depart from Me!”
⁃ without being attached to Vine, we can do nothing, and have NO FRUIT!
2) EVEN IF no grapes growing on the vines, (Sour or lack of grapes were seen as an image of sin.”
3) EVEN IF there are no olives (psalm 133:3)
(Oil represented HARMONY!
“How wonderful and pleasant it is when we live together in harmony! For harmony is as precious as anointing oil…”
4) EVEN IF no produce of any kind (A drought)- “rain was a call to expectantly wait on God for the things that He’s about to.
5) EVEN IF a lack of sheep (we ARE the sheep 🐑 of Gods flock) John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
6) EVEN IF a lack of cattle. (The bull symbolized POWER when used in prophecy or appearing in a vision)

This is what Habakkuk 3:17 really says in his SIX EVEN-IF’s in 2022 language:
1. EVEN IF I’m surrounded by those without the fruit of the Holy Spirit
2. EVEN IF there’s much sin all around me….
3. EVEN IF there’s a lack of harmony & unity within my family, community, church, marriage….
4. EVEN IF people are NO longer waiting with expectancy for the God of Miracles to do the impossible :(
5. EVEN IF it seems Gods flock is getting smaller & church’s are closing ….
6. EVEN IF the enemy is deceiving those I love from receiving the POWER of the Living God…
(Habakkuk 3:18-19 …)
RECYCLE TIME:
(pain to joy)

👉“I will REJOICE in the Lord! I will be JOYFUL in the God of my salvation!
⁃ (Psalm 16- “in my presence there is abundance of joy!”)
⁃ joy ISNT an emotion.
⁃ Satan can mess w/ your emotions in spiritual attack
⁃ But He CANNOT steal your joy because it’s a FRUIT from being attached to Gods ROOT!
👉The Sovereign Lord IS my strength!

Without being ROOTED, we can’t experience “The Joy of the Lord that IS my Strength” —Nehemiah 8:10
• Habakkuk’s joy was not dependent on circumstantial/physical blessings.
👉He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.” (3x in bible)
⁃ “ I will bring them to my holy mountain and fill them with joy in my house of prayer!”Isaiah 56:7
Mountain— a place to come away with God & have sabbath!
(JOY is found on the mountain)

If you obey God,
WHAT IF this/that happens ?
But God says… EVEN IF…
Rom 4:17
“Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life & who creates new things out of nothing. EVEN IF there was NO reason for hope, he KEPT HOPING!
Because….
Hebrews 11:19
“Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again.”
Abraham TRUSTED God because he gave God:
TIME + saw BELIEVABLE BEHAVIOR 🕊
