Peter lets us in on the KEY to enduring “unjust treatment: 👉 “Being conscious of Gods will!”

A PLAN —> not just a thought!

  • You don’t need to know the details of your blueprint— only the builder!


  • every detail of your life— good & bad is to accomplish His PLAN in your life!


  • “you will be rebuilt”

  • “You will be restored”

  • “I will rebuild all your ruins.”

  • I will REVIVE

  • “I will POUR out water & my spirit to quench your thirst — the dry places of your heart.

SHIMEI STORY 

(2 Sam 16)

  • David’s son, Absalom, betrayed, lied-about & dethroned David

  • Shimei came out & threw rocks at David & those w/ him.


R O C K S 

  • Misunderstood

  • Falsely accused

  • Belittled

  • ridiculed

  • Shamed

  • Humiliated

  • Condemned

  • Criticized

  • Mortified


2Sam 16:10

David being HIT with rocks; his friends wanted to kill shimei: 

  • “ No! David said. Who asked your opinion? if the Lord has told him to curse me,who are you to stop him?


2Sam 16:12 

“ and perhaps the Lord will see that I am being wronged and will BLESS me because of these curses today!

  • Maybe Jesus was remembering the story of David when He said:⬇️

Luke 6:22 “What BLESSINGS await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock and curse you as evil because you follow Me. When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a GREAT AWARD awaits you in heaven.” ~Jesus

Rocks WOUND the soul & it takes TIME in our Fathers arms to heal!!!

Don’t waste it picking up heavy ROCKS & choosing payback !


Are we choosing promotion or payback?


Heb 12:1-3 (this sums up 1Peter 2:19)

  • “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up

(ANGER, BITTERNESS, OFFENSE, PAYBACK). And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 

We do this by: keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then YOU won’t become weary and give up.”
